Perkie is a punk singer/songwriter unlike any other out there. Shunning acoustic guitars and overtly lovelorn lyrics in favour of the keyboard and something a little more down to earth, she has endeared herself to music fans all over the UK and beyond.

An incredibly diverse performer, Perkie is just as capable of playing on her own with a keyboard as she is with The Perkettes – an indie-punk backing band featuring members of the Tuts and Colour Me Wednesday – and, after years of honing her craft, she has now released her debut album and could well be destined for big things.

Inspired by everyone from Kate Nash to Against Me! and Kathleen Hanna, ‘Time Machines’ is a defiant slice of indie pop with punk rock, dub and anti-folk sensibilities. It marks a big step up from the Stratford-upon-Avon musician, who’s releases have received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and XFM.
